The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is almost here, so I am giving you the lowdown on all the details you need to know to shop the sale and a little preview of what I am loving so far.
This year they are doing something totally different, where you can actually preview everything online prior to the sale starting! I am so happy they did that this year, so it is easier to be able to browse and save your favorites to make shopping the sale that much better! I am someone who likes to see ALL of my options, so my poor husband can get tired of shopping with me after awhile! The preview allows me to look through my closet before the sale to know exactly what items I am needing replenishment on, items that I want to add that can fit into my current closet easily, and items that may be too similar to something I already own. I have learned over many years of shopping that it is better to be strategic about your purchases instead of just buying something on impluse that will end up sitting in your closet with the tags on it(trust me, I have done the latter one too many times!).

What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is, in my opinion, the best sale of the year! Every mid-Summer, Nordstrom has their Anniversary sale, which features tons of new and exclusive products for the upcoming Fall season at majorly discounted prices, as well as some Summer items too! It is the best time to stock up on all your needs for Fall, from jeans and boots, to winter coats and sweaters. I also love restocking on home items during this time too, such as towels, blankets, and sheets while you can get them at a big discount! I have loved the sale and looked forward to it every year since I worked there while in college!
When is the Anniversary Sale?
The Anniversary sale online preview started Friday, July 24th where you can preview what items will be on sale, but can’t officially shop yet. Everyone can shop when it opens to the public Wednesday, August 19 through Sunday, August 30th. Online shopping begins at 9:30 AM EST/6:30 AM PST the first day of the sale you can shop.
However, Nordstrom cardmembers can shop earlier just depending on their Nordy Club status. Your status is determined on your dollar amount spend for the previous calendar year. If you aren’t sure what your status is on Nordy Club as a current cardmember you can click here to find out. Shopping dates for each Nordy Club status are listed below:
What if I am not a Nordstrom cardmember?
If you aren’t a Nordstrom cardmember, you can shop once the sale opens to the public August 19 through August 30th, OR you can sign up for a Nordstrom card here to take advantage of being able to shop early access for all cardmembers on August 13th!
Benefits of signing up to be a cardmember:
- Get exclusive access to the Anniversary sale (which is the biggest perk right now!), curbside pick up, beauty and style workshops, and more!
- You earn 3 points per dollar spent, and you can earn Nordstrom Notes, which is money that can be spent towards any purchase at Nordstrom. For every 2,000 points earned, you get a $20 note. Now you can also cash in $5, $10, and $15 notes as well!
- Earn points for your Nordy Club status based on calendar spend each year. If you go up in status, you can earn even more points and more perks!
- Receive a BONUS $60 Nordstrom note by signing up for a card now and using it the day you are approved.
- Receive $100 in alterations credit per year.
- Get 1 Personal Double points day, where you can earn 6 points per dollar spent a day of your choosing online and in store! (I like to use mine around the holidays when I know I will be spending more.)
- No annual fee.
- They have a Visa Retail card option to be used just in Nordstrom stores and online at nordstrom.com or a Visa Signature card option where you can use it anywhere Visa is accepted and earn 1 point per dollar outside of Nordstrom.
How do I make a strategic shopping plan?
